Mac Book Pro 2010 OS Sierra won’t airdrop

After 8 hours of attempting to air drop or share my wedding pictures with my Mac book pro to my wife’s IPad with to no avail. I downloaded simple transfer and upgraded to pro for 4.99. Thanks a f***n lot Apple. There is no reason to make a simple photo transfer so go* da** complicated. This is an utter fail. You have no fix for this issue. Upgrading to the latest IOS is not also acceptable as I have already lost a 1500.00 program to the upgrade to Sierra. I would never have had this issue with a Win box. iCloud attempts to intercept any photo transfer through ITunes.

Your computer is too old to Airdrop to devices. From the article below.

To share between a Mac and an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you need any of these devices and operating systems:

  • Mac from 2012 or later (excluding the mid-2012 Mac Pro) using OS X Yosemite or later
  • iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iOS 7 or later
