Repeated downloads when I launch Safari
I am using Safari 12.1.1
Every time I launch it, Safari downloads another copy of a file I downloaded a week ago. How can I stop this happening?

-------
Rid of History-Related Files:
1. Use Spotlight Search (Hold Down Command + Spacebar), and type this: ~/Library/Safari
2. Rid of these two files:
3. Close Safari
4. try this all once more.

Big thank you. This worked, but not until I had deleted those files twice. I am curious to know why it was necessary to delete them twice.
BUT I am exceedingly grateful to be rid of this very annoying bug.
Thanks again.
You are welcome.
As to why you had to delete it twice, that is because it is another session you performed: ridding of the two files
Thanks again and for your prompt reply.
You're welcome.
