Repeated downloads when I launch Safari

"Every time I launch it, Safari downloads another copy of a file I downloaded a week ago. How can I stop this happening?"

Rid of History-Related Files:



1. Use Spotlight Search (Hold Down Command + Spacebar), and type this: ~/Library/Safari

2. Rid of these two files:

• • LastSession.plist
  • Downloads.plist

3. Close Safari

4. try this all once more.

As to why you had to delete it twice, that is because it is another session you performed: ridding of the two files
