Contacts transfer from Android

I could not get “move to iOS “to work with my old android phone. How do I move my contacts from my Gmail account to my new iPhone XR?

Contacts are not stored locally on an iPhone. They are synced an email account Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other

Add Gmail account on your iPhone. That's it.
