iMessage and FaceTime not activating

I lost my iPhone a month ago and in order to recover my account I had to update the number to my wife’s.

I have bought a new iPhone and used it with my wife’s # for couple of days. But as I have my own number now this iMessage and FaceTime is still showing my wife’s number and it’s greyed out I can’t even do anything about it. Someone please help, I have tried almost everything.

Have you checked Settings/Screen Time for any restrictions?


Have you changed the number on your Apple ID? After doing that, wait a while for the number change to sync, then sign out of Messages/FaceTime and sign back in to see if that helps.
