iPhone "Trust this computer" request repeat

I've an iPhone6 running iOS12.4, and a new MacBook running MacOS 10.14.6. Every time I connect my iphone to the MacBook the phone asks if I want it to trust the computer. This didn't happen with my previous MacBook. ANy suggestions how to get the "Trust" command to be accepted would be welcome.

If your iPhone and MacBook are up to date, try to reset the Trust settings.

Head to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy.

If resetting Trust settings doesn't help, go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before.
