Screen/apps change randomly when working in them

Just recently started experiencing apps will randomly change when I am working in them.

Ex. I will open up a Chrome browser or Microsoft Word (not full screen or a second desktop) and it will randomly switch to another app (like my email or the finder that I also have open). It doesn't minimize or hide the screen because I can see it when I use my Mission Control hot corner.

It's almost as if the computer is using 'Command-tab' on its own very quickly.

Seems to happen more frequently when I just open or change my focus to a new app, but I have also experienced it randomly after I've already seen it happen when I opened the app.

I have a MacBook Pro 2018 with the latest Mojave 10.14.6 Any ideas? Could it be the keyboard keys or software issue?

Did you try turning off your hot corners to test if the issue persist?

Use hot corners to start the screen saver on Mac - Apple Support

You can trouble shoot further you can:

Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

Test issue in another user (or guest user) account  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
