I followed the advice from the question back in April, and I’m still unable to update my name or my avatar on my Apple Music. People are looking for me by my maiden last name and it’s under my married. My software is up to date and I reset and switched off my phone.

In the For You Tab, once you click on your avatar, it brings up a list- in this list at the top, you see your name and avatar again, with View Profile under your name - Tap that , it will load your page with a big red EDIT button

When it says update your Apple ID, is it asking you to sign in? You must be signed in. It might be asking you to sign in, in settings in iTunes& App Store, so do that.

On my iPhone, when I click on my avatar , this list is like this ( I cropped off my name), but it’s right at the top, you click on the view profile
There is no edit option available after I click on my For You avatar. It doesn’t have the 3 dots to edit either. When I sign into my Apple ID, everything is correct. When I look at my playlists on Apple Music, they have my previous last name.
There is nowhere for me to sign out of anything once I click on the for you avatar. That is the original problem. I do then sign into my AppleID every single time and every single time my name is updated and there’s nothing for me to correct. I did switch the phone off several times. I deleted and reinstalled the Apple Music app. I’m STILL unable to correct my name on my playlists. This.is.frustrating...
can you describe what happens when you try?
Once I click on my Avatar there is only a list and the option to update my AppleID. My avatar is no where on the next screen.
Also still unable to update my avatar pic. I’m about to just switch to Spotify.
