Set Up of Apple TV Gen 3

I am unable to set up. After entering Apple ID and password (a zillion times) I’m asked to enter a 6-digit verification code for two-factor authentication. I receive the number on my iPhone and am told to enter the digits after the password. This doesn’t work. If I enter the password by itself there’s no spaces provided afterward to enter each digit. HOW DO YOU COMPLETE THE SETUP?

When using an older device you need to enter the password and code together, and there is a time limit. To avoid exceeding the limit you need to enter the password, then request the code, and add it to the password.
