MacBook Air won’t boot past the apple logo

My MacBook Air won’t boot past the apple logo. Last night, I was trying to remove the malware that kept redirecting my search engine to Bing. I deleted things that didn’t look right, but I must have deleted something critical. I didn’t think that was possible because usually you get a message saying that the application is required to run OS so I don’t know what I did! I appreciate any help! Thank you!!!

Try booting in Recovery Mode.

Turn off computer, attach power supply, make sure no attached HD etc. Turn on computer and Immediately hold Command & R. That is Recovery Mode. Then decide to "Reinstall the macOS". It should install over your existing macOS and possibly fix the deleted file
