I would not put anything on the Mac that would restrict air flow and heat dissipation.

Use on a flat, stable surface you should be fine.

Not recommended to throw your Mac down a flight of stairs or out a moving car window.

The top case (including the speaker I believe) is one replacement part. The keyboard and a new battery should be included.

A battery service these days involves swapping out the entire top case including the keyboard and top case. They require exchange of the previous part, which is then refurbished to whatever degree is possible and it can go back as a repair part again with a new battery.

From my experience these plastic cases crack very easily since there isn't very much holding these cases to the laptop. Once the plastic cases crack, the laptop tends to slip right out of them. I almost dropped a client's laptop due to a damaged plastic case. If you carry your laptop around, then I would suggest getting a padded laptop bag to carry the laptop. Just don't put other items in the bag which will press against the laptop and possibly crack the Display since the Display is so thin on the Retina models.
