Haptic setting on apple watch

my haptic setting is no longer working. I had an iPhone 6S and just got an 8S and the haptic setting isn't working. when I try to activate it, it reverts itself back to 'off'. The haptic sound setting on the phone is activated

Turn Up The Haptic Strength On Your Apple Watch

If your Apple Watch is not vibrating, the HapticStrength slider may be turned down all the way. Go into the Settings app on your Apple Watch and tap Sounds & Haptics. Next, scroll down to HapticStrength and turn the slider all the way up

Change the audio and notification settings on your Apple Watch

On your Apple Watch, open the Settings app.
Scroll down, then tap Sounds & Haptics.
Tap to decrease the volume or tap to increase it. You can also tap the slider, then turn the Digital Crown.
