traveling with eSim phone to Italy

iphone xs has at&t eSim phone number, have international day pass, going to italy, they dont support eSim technology will I be able to use roaming

What I have understood from the links above "International Day Pass does not cover, Italy" unless an International

Long Distance package is added to the device placing the call.
