Using esim in USA and not having normal Australian telstra sim racking up international roaming but able to receive data and calls via secondary esim

Hi support if l have an American carrier esim while on vacation in USA (in iPhone 13 ) can l turn off international roaming with my Australian carrier normal sim ( Telstra ) and still use data and receive calls in USA with the esim number . OR once roaming is off will the esim not also work in roaming

So l would need to remove normal Telstra sim and just use roaming with esim.

As one is primary Normal sim

The esim would be secondary

thank you in advance for your help
