Doing some redecoration we had to disconnect everything, which we did by switching off before unplugging. since reconnecting we get a repeated warning that we should disconnect properly before using Time Machine. Everything is working properly but this message builds up in huge numbers down the right hand side of the screen. Help please, & thank you in advance.
It sounds like the drive is repeatedly dropping the connection.
Eject it from the Mac, then power it down. Connect it back to the Mac then power it up.
Or a bad cable or drive.
Open System Preferences> Notifications see if Time Machine appears on the left hand side, if so highlight it.
On the right hand side deselect Alerts in favour of Banners (will show for 5 seconds) or None.
Also select or deselect the other options as you wish.
