Use of Apple Card in over-the-phone transactions

Can I provide my Apple Card number over the phone for a purchase I want to make? How secure would this be for a one-time purchase?

The Wallet App on your iPhone will generate a one time CVV / security code for every transaction.

You can also change the card's virtual number at any point if required by requesting a new number. This is a virtual number you can use with online purchases and other transactions that request the full 16 digit card number. It is not the actual physical number for the card.

The one-time number is done with regular purchases, to my understanding. Using the card over the phone would be subject to the same things that any physical card would be subject to. After reading all the information available, it is really designed for using either in the Wallet, or through Apple Pay. You can contact Support if you wish by tapping on the 3 dots in the upper right corner after selecting the card, and you can either message or call. Another poster wrote about using the Message to ask a question and received a detailed response very quickly. See this for additional information, Apple Card - Apple

Yes, replying to myself.

Having a card reader handy, I can definitively say that the number in the mag-stripe on the physical card does NOT match the number provided in the app... If the number is compromised after having given it out of the phone, changing it is a snap...

If the card itself is compromised (by a skimmer, etc), locking it and requesting a new one is also easy.
