How can I add a partition of Sierra to my mid-2015 MBP running High Sierra?

Make a current backup of your current system.

Use Disk Utility to create a second partition on the disk drive.

You will need a copy of the Sierra installer - How to upgrade to macOS Sierra.

Install Sierra on the newly made partition.
