Possible to run Sierra on same computer as High Sierra?

The instructions say to "Make sure that your Mac is using macOS High Sierra or later." but I want to keep using Sierra for one application so haven't upgraded to High Sierra yet. Can I partition my hard drive so that I can run both Sierra and High Sierra?
