Hello, I bought an Iphone X from ebay and there is an Icloud lock on it.
The seller can't help me remove the lock because he doesn't know the password.
I was wondering if Apple could help me remove it because the Iphone is useless at this stage.

Apple will not help you as it's a second-hand phone, only the person whose account it's locked to can potentially help you.
If it's locked to the account of the person you bought it from, he can reset the account's password : If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
Or ask for a refund
