Items can’t be copied because you don’t have permission to read them.

I am copying music files from on HD to another. I have adjusted all permissions in the folder and in particular. I still get this: "Items can’t be copied to ( Drive Name ) because you don’t have permission to read them. " There are no more permissions to change. The drives and the files have all been switched to all "read and write." Any Ideas?

Having that work correctly requires that everything on your Mac's Ethernet be set perfectly. One tiny wrong setting and it stops working completely.

You should connect its Ethernet to your Router's Ethernet. Then you will get more reliable access from every device on your network, using Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and the Router manages any transitions needed.
