iTunes temp files / photos cache

Hi all, I have doctor cleaner installed on my mac (from the app store) and its telling me I can save 10gb of space on my hard drive by deleting my my photo cache in iTunes temp files. Just wondering whether anyone could advise me on whether this truly is temp files (ie duplicates etc) or whether doing this would delete huge chunks of my 20 years worth of photos?! all advice appreciated.

Don't use third party clean up tools. They almost invariably remove files that are important to the normal functioning of your computer. If you have .tmp files in your main iTunes folder, e.g. iTunes.tmp, iTunes 1.tmp etc. then those are safe to delete while iTunes is not running. You can also remove anything that might be inside the Downloads folder inside your media folder.
