Deleted photos from MacBook but storage space not reclaimed

I deleted all the photos in my album (even the deleted photo less than 30 days) but it still shows up 20G+ in the storage.

Instead of using that view of the storage go to your Home folder, Control (right) - click on the Pictures folder and select Show Info from the contextual menu. In the Info pane see what the size of the pictures folder is?

When deleting photos from the library the size is not always updated quickly.

Hi Rebeccaaaaaa,

We understand you need assistance with the storage on your Mac. If you click Empty Trash to erase all the items in the Trash, does the issue remain? Here are a few resources that can also help:

Find and delete files on your Mac

See used and available storage space on your Mac

Delete photos or recover deleted ones in Photos on Mac

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
