Photo library is empty but still taking up 6GB of space

I'm trying to clear space on my macbook air, so I deleted every photo and video in my photos app. The storage it was using did clear a lot, but it says it's still taking up 6GB of space despite there being nothing in there. Is that something to do with iCloud, or what's happening?

Try and go in the photos app to the recently deleted album to see if they're still there. Removing them from there should clean up your disk space.
