I can't set up new iPhone X

I'm trying to set up my new phone and whenever I put in the Apple ID it says it cannot connect to the Apple ID server. I also tried setting up with an iCloud backup and it says that it needs to connect to WiFi even though I'm already connected. Is there something wrong with my phone?

Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues in IOS


Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.


Try a restart.


Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


Try a forced restart.


Reset Device


If necessary


Hard reset


Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.


Restore to Factory setting


Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup
