Setting up new iPhone after I enter my Apple ID it tells me..could not sign in there is a problem connecting to server what do I do to set my new phone up

I can't set up new iPhone X I'm trying to set up my new phone and whenever I put in the Apple ID it says it cannot connect to the Apple ID server. I also tried setting up with an iCloud backup and it says that it needs to connect to WiFi even though I'm already connected. Is there something wrong with my phone?
