imovie stuck "Preparing media for share..."

I sat down at my computer today and noticed that my iMovie was stuck on "preparing media for share..." I hadn't been attempting to export anything at the time. I waited a while, then Force Quit. A few minutes later I brought it back up and was still stuck on the same thing. I tried it a few more times, the same result. I let it sit for several hours, same problem. I've even restarted the Mac and it is still having the issue every time I bring it up. Any ideas or suggestions?

Try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if the problem is solved.
