I bought two homepods this month to use the stereo mode and one did froze after been updated.
Keeps flashing volume lights and did not reset when button is pressed.
Sad that Apple did not have an online support to solve this problem with this device.
See Reset HomePod - Apple Support. Try the reset method once more paying attention to the timing. If you cannot reset the device then return to the store and exercise your warranty rights.

The only problem, is that I bought in Miami and brought to Brazil. In Brazil they don't sell Homepods yet.
