My new Apple Watch won’t pair to my phone. Keep getting a pairing failed message.

My iPhone is completely updated and when I try to pair it to my watch it says pairing failed and I have to keep starting over when I try to update my new watch. Brand new series 3 Apple Watch and I have an iPhone 6
