How do I restore a file from a previous backup on an old machine

Thanks but I just found what I was looking for.

Went to mounted Time Capsule, found the imac .sparsebundle file I wanted and mounted it. Then I searched through all the back ups for the required file.


It seems entering the "Time Machine" through the Menu Bar option only brings up the current backup disc

NOT THE OLD ONE FROM THE PREVIOUS COMPUTER.
