Audio control on monitor via Apple TV 4K

I have a monitor from AOC and I stream TV from an app on the Apple TV 4K. However, I cannot control the audio level via the remote control. Just does not do it.

I have a separate speaker and I can connect to the speaker via Airplay and then the Apple TV remote controls the audio level on the speaker, so this is not a problem as such with the remote control.

How do I get the remote control to control the audio level on the TV itself? It is a monitor, so there is no remote control for the monitor itself. I have to use the Apple TV remote control.

The Apple TV Remote controls audio via IR (infrared) directly to the equipment, not through the Apple TV (except for AirPlay and Bluetooth speakers connected to/configured through the Apple TV). That means that the TV or monitor will need to have an IR receptor to interpret that signal.

One other exception is a home theater setup, where the Apple TV is connected to an AV receiver that supports volume control over HDMI-CEC. Control your TV or receiver with your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote - Apple Support.

Ah, thx. Understood. So the issue is probably that my monitor does not have IR nor HDMI-CEC (being a monitor and not a TV). Hmm, I was not aware, when I purchased it.
