Wrong language in email from Apple

Hi there.

I keep receiving emails from Apple iCloud service in what seems to be German while my devices are all set in English.

Anybody has any idea why?

Thanks!

These are probably scams. Real emails from Apple always address you by name and come from the apple.com domain, not some address that happens to have 'apple' in it somewhere. If you hover the cursor over any links without clicking on them the actual URL will show as a tooltip and if it's genuine it will be to an apple.com URL.

If you are uncertain about an email you can post it here (copy and paste, not as an image) and we can check it - however make sure to remove your own email address if it's showing, never post that in the forums.

You can report fraudulent emails to Apple by forwarding them as an email attachment to reportphishing@apple.com

Thanks Roger, but I feel these are genuine apple emails, just with the wrong language, which by the way I realised is Dutch and not German. The address from which they're coming from is noreply@email.apple.com and here's the body of the email:

Beste simonluca fraioli,Je Apple ID () is gebruikt om in te loggen op iCloud op een iPhone 4s.Datum en tijd: 26 augustus 2019, 01:29 uur PDT

It does look genuine. You will get these if you sign in using a browser or device which hasn't been used before, and sometimes on a repeat use because it's failed to remember you. Does this sign in time and the device match one of yours? If it doesn't then as the email suggests you should change your password. Have you enabled two-factor authentication? That would prevent anyone signing in even if they did guess your password.

As to the language I have no idea - I assume it's nothing so simple as your actually being in Holland? You could try contact Support: https://getsupport.apple.com
