thunderbolt to usb c adapter

Hi

I need to connect Blackmagic ultra studio mini to my Macbook pro. the output from Blackmagic studio is thunderbolt and input on my Mac is USB c. I have reed that some adapters work "one way". I wonder if apple brand Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter will work. form feedbacks I understood that the working direction is from thunderbolt to usb c but not another way.

has anybody can tell me if it work from Blackmagic studio to MacBook Pro.

Bring everything to your local Apple Store and ask them to demonstrate that it works before purchase.

If that is not possible or inconvenient, Apple does have a 14 day return policy. I know because I was told an adapter would work and it didn't. I returned it within the 14 day return policy. The purchase price was returned my credit card.

I know that it should works but I need to be sure 100 %. I do not want to end up with hundreds different cables:)
