You cannot do so directly.
Depending on the printer will be your options.
If its a network / wireless printer, some manufacturers offer iOS apps you can install on tour iPad to send items to the printer. Try looking for one in the App store from your Printer manufacturer.
If you have a Mac or a PC that that printer is connected to, there is 3rd party software you can install on it that can share the printer out on the network via AirPrint even if the printer does not natively support AirPrint.
