OSX 10.9.5 mavericks start up

I need to start up my computer from another disk to repair my disk. I have OSX 10.9.5 mavericks installed, the problem is , that I installed it from apple store. How can I solve this?.

Boot into local Recovery Mode using Command + R.


If this doesn't work, you can also try downloading the latest macOS installer which is compatible for your system and create a bootable macOS installer USB drive. Option Boot the USB installer to access Disk Utilities which may be located on the Utilities menu.
