Update on my Apple Watch already taking almost 45 minutes

Trying to do an update on my Apple Watch. It is almost 45 minutes. Both the watch are on their charging stand at almost 100%. I am connected to WIFI. I did the update on the iPhone XR. The watch was restarted. What else should I do. I wanted to go for a walk. I cannot do this without my watch and phone. This is a waste of my time. create a new post you need a topic. Not able to do that either.
