Logic Pro X - Mic Input Levels are Low

Hey guys, I'm really new to Logic and I'm using it to record my podcast. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel but I just can't figure out why my mics are so quiet. I have three EV Re-20 mics plugged into the 1, 2 and 3 channels of my Mackie Onyx 1220 board via XLR cables. The gains on the Mackie Board are set to about 40 out of 50 for each mic. I didn't put any gain on the channels in Logic. When I watch Logic tutorials, it seems like most people are hitting 12-9 on their mic levels quite easily. For whatever reason, I max out between 30-24... And I don't know why. I feel like everything is hooked up correctly... I must be doing something very basic wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Ok, the EV's are noiseless dynamic Mics, it's ok to add a little more gain, run it to 50.

Phantom power (48v) is not needed for these, they are not condensers. If by any chance the Phantom power is on, lower output before switching it off. Logic's Faders are not gain faders they're playback faders. Gain will be set from the Interface.

As mentioned before make sure you're right on the mic.

Right, you have a gain knob at the top and doesn't the volume fader also set the level or is that playback only.

Those are dynamic mics so running the gain up will not increase noise by much. As the mics themselves have no circuitry. Also, those mics can be used in close proximity to the mouth. They are meant to be close to the speaker, with two filters, blast and wind. If you have those mics too far away from the speaker get them closer.

Yes, it has a volume fader which I have set to set to the level marks (about 70% up the fader). I feel as though I'm talking directly into the mics, it's just as I speak you really don't see the waveform in logic move at all. In other words, it more or less remains flat when I'm recording. My vocals are clear, just VERY quiet. After recording, if I normalize the waveform, it expands in size greatly... Thank you for your help.
