When i press shuffle in a playlist, it won’t change songs.

When playing music on iPhone, I will press shuffle in a playlist. It’ll play a song but as soon as that one song is over it will play this other song and it’s like it’s stuck and won’t change songs. You will hit next and it’ll still play that same song. I have made sure it isn’t on repeat and made sure shuffle has been clicked. But it still won’t work. Any advice?
