can Time capsule be attacked by ransomware

If time capsule can be attacked by ransomware what is the best alternative to use especially if I work from home?

If you work from home and have business stuff on your computer which is of value to you.. take security seriously.

As MrHoffman pointed out ransomware is rare on a Mac. Apple have worked carefully to ensure an infection if it did occur would not spread.. but using say 3 USB drives rotated weekly with one online, one disconnected and one offsite. And or cloud backup at least of current user directory is well worth it.

A software like Carbon Copy Cloner is great to have a bootable clone of your computer on the USB drives. Time Machine takes a lot longer for a rebuild and a lot more headaches. CCC clone can be tested immediately by simply using it as your boot drive.
