How to add iPhone number to send and receive messages to my iPad so messages are received on iPhone and iPad.

One more step, if not done already ...
On the iPhone, go to Settings/ Messages/ Text Message Forwarding and select your iPad's name. That way your iPad can receive and send SMS text messages from your iPhone, not just iMessages.
If the phone number is in your Apple ID it should be on your iPad.
Go to Settings > Message > Send & Receive.
If it isn't listed in your Apple ID account then add it.

Make sure your iPhone is also showing.
Ok both iPhone and iPad are showing my email address and phone number. Hopefully that will take care of things. Thanks for the help.
My phone number is not listed just the email address.
