I get an alert in my iPhone that FaceTime is now being used on my iMac. I am sitting at my iMac but I am not using FaceTime. I changed my AppleID password just in case. I look at my camera on the iMac and the green light is not on. Why would I receive the alert? This has happened before with the alert on my iPad.

you can see what devices are assigned to your id here

https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage

you can also set the restrictions for FaceTime

https://support.apple.com/guide/facetime/change-preferences-fctm35545/mac

was anyone signing into one of your devices with that ID when the alert went off?

I don't think this is a malicious attack, I think it's just the OS doing what it's told by the developers when they designed it but trying to be sure.
