How do I pair my HomePod for stereo. I am following apples instruction but in my home app the second pod does not appear

Usually once you’ve set one up, the next one will know you have another and ask you to pair it,
They do do need to be in the same room. Are you looking in the rooms tab or home tab? If they aren’t in the same room, you won’t see the other. To see them both in the Home tab you need to add it to favourites. Look in all the rooms to see if you can find it.
Look in settings in the home app, there should be a choice to pair it.
