Timemachine goes on forever

Timemachine can make a complete backup on a connected harddisk, but something strange happens when it tries to make a backup on my Time Capsule using a wireless connection.

When it's almost done, 8 or 9 Gb to go, the size of the data that needs to copied goes up as well. So both figures continue to increase, and the backup cannot be completed. Also the estimated time to complete disappears....

There is plenty of room on the Time Capsule. In the past, everything runs smoothly - but for some reason it doesn't work anymore. I have removed the old sparsbundle, so Timemachine started a new backup - but again the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thanx, Erik

Hi Erik-

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're having trouble with Time Machine backing up using an AirPort Time Capsule over Wi-Fi. I know how important having a backup is; I'd like to help. I'd recommend starting with the steps in the following resource, specifically the "Network speed" and "Check your drives" sections: If a Time Machine backup takes longer than you expect

Should you continue to have trouble, use the "Check your AirPort base station" and other steps here: If you can't back up or restore your Mac using Time Machine

If you continue to see the behavior after using these resources, reach out to Apple for further assistance: Contact Apple Support

Best Regards.
