Try a different Ethernet cable.

Preferably a Category 6 rated cable, if you want gigabit Ethernet speeds.

Test the existing Ethernet cable elsewhere, and see if it works there.

Make sure there’s nothing jammed in the Ethernet sockets.

Make sure the correct port on the router—there are thousands of different models of routers, too—is a LAN port and not a WAN port.

What else have you tried? Details here matter.

We don’t know what you’ve already tried nor what you haven’t tried, nor what you know about networking and related troubleshooting, nor what equipment is involved, nor what errors are seen, nor what software is involved, nor what router, nor what sort of cabling is in use here. Among other (missing) details.

Have you tried connecting this Mac to a different network? See if the Mac is working.

Connecting a different computer with this router? See if the router is working.
