Knowing your Serial number won't help with your issue. And the serial number is printed on the back of your iPad anyway.

Reboot your iPad:

Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time (keep holding past the swipe to power off) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go.
