Battery stuck in trackpad

Hello All,

I got my iMac in 2014, after three years a battery got stuck and I could not remove it, took it to the Apple store they could not remove it, out of warranty so had to buy another one.

That was last year and the same thing has happened, out of warranty but this suggests there is a design fault, has anyone else had this problem and do I have any come back? There is no sign of any battery leakage.
