how to get rid of latency in garageband

so ive done research on how to get rid of latency in garageband a lot, however, no solution is found.

on the project im working on has latency when recording vocals, enough to throw me off. but when i open a new project the latency disappears?

am i missing something?

yes all my plugins are switched off, theres nothing i havent checcked. please help?????
