I gave the apple credit card - if I go to a store to make a purchase I hold my phone up and Apple Pay gets used - is apple pay using my apple cRedit card?

guessing the credit card can only be used in apply pay devices since you cannot swipe it at a terminal
making it it more confusing ....

No Apple Pay acts more like a debit card - replenishing itself from whatever credit card or bank account you have it set up with.
The new Apple Card is an actual credit card.
