New user to Logic Pro X. Cannot get a fade-out.

I looked at various helps but none of them were any help only further confused the issue. I am simply trying to fade applause at the end of an audio cut, stereo L & R.

Left-click on your track to select it. Right-click and select Fade Tool. With the Fade Tool, go to the end of your region until you see the cursor change to a vertical line with arrows pointing left and right. Click and drag to the left to create a fade. To edit the curve of the fade, click on the diagonal line and drag left or right.
