My daughters screentime is limited to 2 hours all apps and categories per day.
However she manages to run up 5 hours per day anyway... mostly snapchat and instagram.
i thought the 2 hours was culminative limit. Am I wrong? If not, how is she doing it?

The glitch seems to be related to Downtime and App Limit running at the same time. My daughter said that if she didn't use all her app limit when downtime hit, after midnight a screen would pop up that said 5 more mins, 15 more minutes, use for the rest of the day. She could set the apps to use for rest of day (since 12:01am is a new day!) and it was a free for all. I took away downtime and now the app limits are back to requesting a passcode to approve more time. It is disappointing that we cannot use downtime at the same time but at least there is somewhat of an answer. Hopefully apple will fix this on the next update.
I don’t have much faith it will continue to work based on past experience. Eventually all updates and software fixes for screen time have failed.
I am having the same issue on my daughter's phone. Has there been a fix provided? Very disappointed that this is not working as advertised.
This response is useless. How do we stop apps from by-passing screen time? That’s the question.
I have done it as family sharing and it does not work.
i like the idea of going in to an apple store. This is a huge trip to the city for me and I will of course have to wait a while
We got the phone reset and it worked perfectly for 3 months and then it turned itself back on. I gave up and we got her a new phone and new Apple ID.

Finally! Thank you @BlueCoral365 for providing a work-around. Apple should fix this frustrating glitch so that Downtime and App Limits can work concurrently.
all devices have up-to-date iOS (13.5.1) and screen time limits still not working as described by others here.
Does anyone know if the child is over 13 theses setting don’t work?? This is what apple says? I can’t believe this is correct.....
