Old email address keeps popping up

How can I delete an old email address (that happens to be an old one of my brothers') that keeps popping up and asking me to sign in to my iphone?

You brother should have performed these steps:--> What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

With the above procedure, that iphone is empty and ready for a new activation (using a new different Apple ID).
